FROM BEGINNINGS TO MAJOR INTERNATIONAL VICTORIES
Michelangelo Aniello was born in Mola di Bari on 16 October 1976 and started playing billiards at the age of 6 thanks to his father, who was the president of a sports centre in Apulia.
His rise in the snooker movement started very early and in 1997 he began competing at a national level, immediately achieving his first successes. During the following years he collected a vast series of successes at national, European and world level, winning his most important title, the world one, in 2006, the year in which he also won the Italian championship.
Michelangelo, also known as ‘Miking’, is a 3-time World Champion, 11-time European Champion and 9-time Italian Champion.
In 2022, he won the title of European Team Champion and European Champion in 5 Skittles Billiards.
In 2023, he again became European Team Champion in Turkey.
At the culmination of an incredible season, on 1 July 2023, after 16 years of waiting, Michelangelo Aniello returned to lift the prestigious title of Italian Champion in the Professional category.
In September 2023 he won the International Biathlon-Teams Cup with Marco Zanetti.
2023 ends with the World Team Championship won in Austria.
The year 2024 starts with a bang with the 4th European Singles Title won in Calangianus in a historic final.
In 9 days of competition, Miking enriched its palmares with another European team title, a silver medal in the European Biathlon with Marco Zanetti and a gold medal in the Mixed Grand Prix with Daniela Romiti.
